We can sleep peacefully in our homes because of the brave soldiers (Army, Air force, Navy, BSF, CRPF, CISF) who toil hard in the hardships of life away from their families to protect us. In a world where every step taken by us is a calculated step based on the profits/losses, these brave soldiers take the bullet for us selflessly.
I salute the brave armed forces of this country on this Independence Day. When I read their stories, I get goose
bumps. The bravery, valour shown by them in the line of duty is unmatched.
If there is anyone, who deserves a salute for working so selflessly for this country. It has to be the armed forces. No offence intended to our pompous politicians. They also do their job selflessly, which reflects in the bank balances accumulated by them over years 🙂
We, the civilians cannot even empathize with the armed forces because we have no idea on what they or their families live through. The very thought of losing a loved one sends shivers down our spine. Imagine the mindset of spouses, families of those who fight naxals, terrorists, and enemies for us without any guarantee about the next moment of their life.
The awardees of this year’s gallantry awards, Medal of Honour are no ordinary men. They are young ambitious gentleman like all of us. These are the men, who could have worked hard in their cushy MNC jobs to earn 6-7 figure salaries. They could have been a part of rat race, we all are running.
Instead, they decided to join forces.
To know a little more about the brave ones, who are will be awarded the highest honour, you can search for Late Col. Munindra Nath Rai from Gorkha Rifles, asst. commander mithlesh kumar singh from CRPF, Capt Milind Mohan Mokshi from Indian Navy, Rocky From BSF or you can read the courage section of TOI in today’s newspaper.
Here is the list of brave men awarded gallantry award today : Independence Day: 824 police, paramilitary personnel awarded gallantry medals
I am amazed to read about the courage shown by these brave men. I will be back to my rate race from Monday morning but I have this respect inscribed in my mind for these brave men.
Despite few bad apples, forces have had in last few years (ones who have been a part of scams, controversies, cases), the majority of force remains committed to make sure you, me and every single civilian lives a peaceful life.
I hope we can implemented One Rank One Pension demanded by ex-officers asap.
This is a little we can do to respect the honourable men of this country.
